Next Place 02:32
I can't really say It might be a waste Wasteful lives give way to the waiting game No such thing as choice I chose you today Spin out into space Now and always Please Take me To the next place Bye, baby
2.
Devotion 03:16
I know that these days devotion's a dirty word But my baby's all I wanna do You may talk louder, but I don't hear a word Conviction wasted on something that ain't true There's an evil that runs through this town I can feel it in the wind that whips my hair I've seen some strange things as the years have come and passed Strange things they come to pass oh, way out there It isn't in me to look the other way And when I look, I look right through you You're always starving, but don't choke on the cake When you force me to watch you eat it, too I know that these days devotion's a dirty word But my baby...

Salesman 03:32
Like a shabby salesman Being splashed by a puddle As he misses the bus He needed to catch I'm a mustard stain On your shirt some days Making you ashamed As we both Go nowhere fast And I know failing And don't you know a thing or two About a thing or two About something like that Shake off that malaise Glance at me sideways Making me ashamed Making me ashamed
4.
Night Falls 02:54
Oh it's been fun, dear How I've searched for something ordinary But now I want it in the past All those old eras that you never will remember right Only serve to remind that nothing lasts Night falls again on the hushed world, and all I see Looking up to the clouded, starless sky beyond the trees At a black veil between me and the galaxy Well the sun shines in my eyes every morning Yeah, and the cars, they keep me up all night Stuck to the couch just like a hair stuck to a band-aid Yeah, I'll pine away while I lie awake tonight Night falls again on the hushed world, and all I see Looking up to the clouded, starless sky beyond the trees At a black veil between me and the galaxy A black veil between me and the galaxy A black veil between me and the galaxy
5.
You want your autonomy And you wanna do your own thing And you want someone to hold at the end of the day Well, it's okay Go your own way You want that feather in your cap And you want that wind at your back And you want me to go to work while you lay down for your nap And thank you, babe Now that I'm trapped It's no secret, oh the way it goes The things you do when you're alone With feet planted firmly far below those faithless eyes that roam While someone waits For you at home Well ain't ya free? Now that you're through? Yeah, I'm free Now I'm through with you Well ain't ya free? Now that you're through? Yeah, I'm free Now I'm through with you
6.
Oh darling, don't you remember When your life had romance and meaning? Darling, you glowed like a firefly Darling, you were so appealing Your eyes danced like moonlight on the water On the lake where we paddled the boat Where the frogs jumped And the fishes swam And the water lilies did float Well, we laughed all night 'Cause I'm so funny And we played cards and we drank And I told you how I loved you, honey Right before the boat sank Now I walk the shore with you no more I'm so lonesome here on the bank With my memories to keep me company And only you to thank Now I know you're off with someone else And I hope she makes you blue And I hope you'll think of the fun we had On the boat when it was just us two There's resignation in your eyes When you look at your new girl Well don't you mind You won't ever find Another like me in this whole world
7.
Look Twice 02:06
What could be Dragging you Dragging you down? Will you stay on the ground? What could be Dragging you Dragging you down? When I see you around Wealth, it never makes wise Look twice! You can never really trust your eyes What could be Dragging you Dragging you down? When I see you around

about

Steph Green’s debut album, "Thanks for That" is a kaleidoscope of loud, distorted guitars, moody and romantic country-noir, sunny beach-pop, and shuffling folk-rock that will make you both laugh and feel the good kind of crappy.
